Tips on Replacing Printer Cartridges
>> Wednesday, July 28, 2010
Almost everyone with a computer already owns its famous partner which is the printer. This machine can come in different sizes and models at a relatively affordable price. What can be considered as expensive in having a printer are the printer cartridges that cost more than the device that uses these.
However, if you do not know how to properly replace these consumables when the inks or toners run out, you might have some problems with your printing needs. So, here are a few tips on replacing your printer’s ink or toner cartridge.
1. The Printer Cartridge Type
Most print makers will somehow make their printers in a manner that the printer cartridges needed would not be the same from the others. This is done to make sure that a printer user does not supply his printer with a wrong cartridge. Nevertheless, you will need to know your printer’s cartridge type by looking at its manual or asking assistance from the printer company’s customer service.
2. Check Cartridge’s Color
A printer would normally have four cartridges to use with the colors Black, Cyan, Yellow, and Magenta. You should always check the labels or color indicators on your printer’s cartridge box to make sure that you are placing the right cartridge in it. You can do this by opening your printer to locate the cartridge boxes then check for the marks that will tell you which one is for the Black or the Cyan, etc.
3. Clogged Printer Cartridges
Run a printing test to make sure that your printer cartridge is at its best performance. You will notice stains or marks on the printout if it is clogged or unclogged.
Replacing your printer cartridge is not a hard work at all. Just make sure you read the instructions in the box or manual first before doing this to avoid problems, although most remanufactured printer cartridges are easy to use and maintain.
