The HP LaserJet 1160 and HP 1320 Series are lines of laser printers that are designed by Hewlett-Packard to deliver the printing needs and requirements of small businesses and home offices which produce excellent printing quality at fast printing speeds. It has 1200 x 1200 dpi printing resolution and offers high monthly duty cycle, offers parallel, USB and network connections, and are PC and Mac compatible.

But similar to other laser printers, these printers have some issues from time to time including these are paper feed problems which are very usual to happen not only in laser printers but also in inkjet printers. If you’re experiencing the same problem in your HP LaserJet 1160 or HP LaserJet 1320 printer, then here are some of the basic solutions on how you can fix varied problems concerning your printer’s paper feed from HP Solutions.

·         How to Fix Curled or Wrinkled Printouts

o   First, make sure that the media meets specifications detailed in the HP LaserJet Printer Family Media Guide.

o   Open the straight-through output door on the back of the printer to change the media path. Reset the fuser mode to the default.

o   Whenever possible, store paper in its sealed ream at room temperature.

o   Use the long media extension.

o   Select Type is: in the Paper/Quality tab of the printer driver. Make sure that it is set for the appropriate media.

·         How to Fix Skewed Pages

o   Make sure that you center the media with the side media guides. Verify that the guides are not adjusted too tightly or too loosely against the media. Check for broken or missing guides and replace them as needed.

·         How to Fix Paper Jams

o   Slide the guides against the sides of the stack in the main input tray or the priority input slot to center the media. Make sure that the guides are not adjusted too tightly.

o   Remove some of the sheets. The main input tray can hold up to 250 sheets of 20 lb. (75 g/m2 ) bond weight paper (or fewer pages of heavier media, a stack no higher than 25 mm).

o   "Break" the ream of paper by curving it into an upside-down u-shape (do not "fan" the paper); this can effectively decrease multifeeds. Also, try turning the paper around to feed the opposite end first, or use a different type of paper.

o   Check the following things: Clean or replace the pickup roller. Clean or replace the separation pad.

HP LaserJet 1160 and HP 1320 uses replacement printer cartridges HP Q5949A (HP 49A) Black Laser Toner Cartridge, and is ideal for small business and offices that needs a workhorse compact laser printer to meet their printing needs and demands.
