The Brother HL-3040CN is a digital color laser printer which is engineered to produce excellent quality printouts perfect for business materials, thanks to its 600 x 2400 dpi resolution and Brother's Digital LED print technology. It offers a fast printing speed of “up to 17ppm in both color and black, so printer users can now have brilliant color output faster than ever before.” And if you happen to own a Brother HL-3040CN then you have an idea on the capabilities of this digital color laser printer. But just like other laser printers, the Brother HL-3040CN can have minor problems now and then, and one of these is paper jams.

Admit it, which printer on Earth didn’t have a problem with paper jams. That’s why for today’s article, we’re going to give you the steps on how you can fix paper jam problems in your Brother HL-3040CN laser printer which is credited to Brother Solutions Center.

Steps in Fixing Paper Jams on Brother HL-3040CN

·         Step 1 - Turn off the Brother HL-3040CN printer's power switch and unplug the AC power cord.

·     Step 2 - Fully open the top cover by lifting up on the handle (1). Note: If you have just used the printer, wait for at least 10 minutes for the printer to cool down before continuing to the next step to avoid being burned.

·         Step 3 - Take out all four drum unit and toner cartridge assemblies.

·         Step 4 - Pull out the jammed paper slowly.

·         Step 5 - Slide each drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into the printer. Make sure that you match the toner cartridge color to the same color label on the printer for all four drum unit and toner cartridge assemblies.

o   C- Cyan
o   M- magenta
o   Y- Yellow
o   K- Black

·         Step 6 - Close the top cover of the printer.

·         Step 7 - Plug the printer back in and then turn on the power switch.

During the process, it is recommended for you to place the Brother DR-210 drum cartridge and Brother TN-210 toner cartridges on a clean, flat surface with a sheet of disposable paper or cloth underneath it at Step 3. This will avoid any mess in case you accidentally spill or scatter toner. Another thing, to avoid any damages on your printer from static electricity, one should not touch the electrodes on your printer that can be found in the sides of the cartridge tray. Once you’re all done, you can now refresh your desktop computer and resume back printing your documents.
