Tips on Using Two Printer Settings
>> Monday, May 17, 2010
We frequently tend to change our printer settings depending on the file that we want to print. For instance, when you only want to review a work, you use the draft settings while for your professional outputs you use the best settings. These settings vary on quality and ink or toner consumption, of course. It can be inconvenient to change printer preferences every time, so what can be done? Install your printer twice.
Installing your printer twice on your computer won’t cause any struggles as long as you do it right way. Just go to the Printers folder at your Control Panel then click “Add Printer.” (This is for the second installation of printer.) Then, just install your printer the way you did it for the first one. After that, give your second printer a new name to distinguish it from the other one. You can now alter the settings of the printers installed in the mode that you want. When printing, just select the printer with that you want and you’re done.
You can try this helpful way of having two printer settings to avoid difficulties in switching your printing types. This tip can also save your inks and toners when you’re printing your files. For greater budget savings, switch to replacement ink and toner cartridges that are lower in price but not in quality.
