How Expected Print Yield of a Printer Cartridge is Calculated
>> Friday, January 14, 2011
Most of the time, the concern of every printer user is the amount of work that his printer can make. This is why many would often look at the expected print yield of a printer cartridge that can be found on the package of it when purchased.
But did you ever wonder how this detail has been computed? What is the basis of for its makers to say that their laser toner cartridge or ink cartridge can produce that number of outputs?
A printer cartridge manufacturer would normally apply the standard size of a document when testing its number of prints. The usual sizes are the letter type and A4 which are tested with the proper printer settings.
When the testing process is done, at least nine printer cartridges of the same type are being used to make sure that the final count of print yield will be 95% accurate. This makes the given information more accurate.
Aside from the checking of how many pages a cartridge can do for you, it is also important that you know how long that printer supply will last. Always apply the given tips to maintain your laser toner or ink cartridge's life. It will be best to do this since you would not want to instantly replace your cartridge because you have accidentally wasted what is inside it.
Now that you already have an idea on how that print yield is measured, now you would not have to doubt if it is accurate or not as long as you take good care of your consumables.
